Along with providing quality instrument repair services, Holquinn Lutherie also offers cello lessons ranging from beginners of all ages, to college level performance. With more than 25 years of experience in cello performance, two college level music degrees, and masterclasses from several esteemed virtuosic soloists, you can feel confident knowing that what you learn in your lessons is coming from a highly knowledgeable background. Our cello instructor focuses not only on your gradual comprehension of playing the instrument, but also closely monitors your physical comfort while playing, ensuring that any pain while playing is reduced to a minimum. Most important of all, our cello instructor deeply believes that music is for everyone, and that it can be learned no matter what age or life stage you are at. So often, we are taught to believe that learning how to play an instrument is reserved for when you are young because it's "easier to learn" and you're more likely to stick with it. While that may have some truth to it, it certainly does not mean that you aren't allowed to start in adulthood! The learning process may take a little longer as an adult, but you are still fully capable of learning how to play an instrument and become a master performer. In the words of the late, great, cello virtuoso Pablo Casals, when asked why he still practices at 70 years old, his response was, "because I think I am making progress!"
